Week 33

Hey everyone! We had a really awesome week. It's crazy how fast time is going by though. It seems like I was just emailing. Anyway, we had a zone conference with President Diaz on Wednesday and it was really awesome. He talked a lot about miracles and how they are manifested now a days. It was really cool. Then he also talked a lot about asking inspired questions and how we can get our investigators to really search the scriptures and try and apply them in their lives. It seemed to be just what I needed. I've been trying to apply it in our lessons and it's really working. Then probably the highlight of the week was yesterday. Our investigator José got baptized. It was super cool. It's been cool to see the change in him. He's been taking the lessons for more than 30 years but he never wanted to stop drinking. His wife never stopped praying for him though. She told us that she knew someday he would accept the gospel in his life. Ever since we started meeting with him, he hasn't had any alcohol. After 60 years of drinking, he just gave it up. It's been so awesome to see his change. They're already talking about getting sealed in the temple. 

Well I hope everyone had an awesome Easter and had an opportunity to reflect on all the Savior has done for us. And how much influence he can have in our lives if we let him. I know that he lives and he loves us. Thanks for all the prayers and support. Love you guys and I hope everyone has an awesome week.

Week 32

Hey everyone. We had a great week this. We had to postpone the baptism but it's gonna happen soon. No worries. He's got an awesome testimony and everything. Also, we have another baptism coming up this Sunday too. José is gonna get baptized. He's 74 years and has a little bit of alzheimer's. He forgets a lot of stuff but he's trying so hard to remember everything. It's so cute cause his wife is a really faithful member and she reads the Book of Mormon to him every day and he tries so hard to understand. He's awesome though.

We're doing really great though. We've been able to find a new investigators this week that have a lot of potential to progress. We're really excited to see how it goes with them.

We're getting really excited for conference. I can't wait to be able to hear from our Prophet and the Apostles. We're gonna the Book of Mormon right before conference so I'm really excited to hear the counsel they have for us. 

I love the Gospel so much. My love and understanding of it grows every day. We're so blessed to have the knowledge and hope that we have a Father in Heaven loves us and that we can live with our families forever if we do what he asks us. I hope everyone has a chance to reflect on the blessings that we receive from the Gospel in our lives.

Week 31

Hey everyone! This week was awesome. Things are starting to pick up now that my companion and I are getting the area better. We had a couple miracles this week. On Tuesday we were trying to find this house that we found in the ward list but we ended up finding this guy that was sitting on a chair in front of his house. His eyes lit up like he knew us. He told us to come in cause his wife is Mormon. One thing led to another and he told us he's ready to change. He told us he wants to be with his wife forever. They're both super old and she can't really walk well. And he's in the first stages of Alzheimer's so it's been a challenge for him to remember everything but he's trying really hard. If everything goes well, he'll get baptized in a couple weeks. Then we found this guy knocking on doors a couple weeks ago but he couldn't meet with us till Saturday. We went over and he's awesome. He told us that his friend at work had taught him a lot about the church and that he already knew it was true. He's read most of the Book of Mormon and he's been to church with his friend several times. He told us that he knows that this is the true church, he said he just needs to make his covenant of baptism. He even told us that he hopes to make more covenants in the temple someday. It was awesome. We were gonna put a baptismal date but his wife wasn't there and we want them to be able to do it together. It was so cool though. 

I know this is the Lord's work and he's pŕeparing people everyday to hear this message. I'm so grateful to be a part of it.

Week 30

Hey everyone. We had a great week this week. The work is kinda slow right now cause we're still getting to know everything in the area but every day we find more and get to know more of our area. We walked so much this week cause we're trying to find everybody but it's great cause our calves our really getting toned lol. The hills here are crazy and don't get me started on the stairs. It's alright though cause we're starting to get used to it. By the time we're done, we'll be pros with the hills. 

We've also gotten to know a lot of the members this week too. They're a huge help right now cause we don't really know a whole lot. The ward really is great though. Everyone is really humble here and really wants to help.

We also had an investigator that put his own baptismal date so that was cool. He's getting baptized next saturday.
